AWARDS
Two scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded for undergraduate study only. Awards are renewable up to three times or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of maintaining full-time enrollment and a 3.0 grade point average. Students who continue to meet TRALA’s eligibility requirements can expect to have their scholarships renewed annually, resulting in scholarship support of as much as $20,000 over a four-year period.
Parents or legal guardians of recipients must remain employees of TRALA member companies. Recipients will remain eligible in the event of retirement or death of the qualifying employee.
SELECTION
The TRALA Scholarship Fund is administered entirely by Scholarship America. Final selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. The scholarship selection committee is not connected to TRALA in any way. Scholarship America will determine and announce scholarship recipients in March.
PAYMENT OF AWARDS
On or about August 15, Scholarship America will mail to the scholarship recipient’s home address an award check for one-half the amount granted ($2,500). A second check, for the remaining one-half ($2,500), will be mailed on or about December 30. Checks are made payable to the scholar’s school.
OBLIGATIONS
Recipients have no obligations to TRALA. They must, however, supply Scholarship America with current transcripts and notify Scholarship America of change of address, school enrollment or other relevant information. Except as described above, no obligation is assumed by TRALA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Applicants are responsible for the admission to an accredited four year college or university and for meeting its entrance requirements. Applicants are also responsible for gathering and submitting to Scholarship America the information necessary for selecting the TRALA Scholarship Fund recipients as outlined above. If awarded a scholarship, recipients must enter school no later than the fall term of the year of the award.
